Today, let’s talk about hope and how to find more of it.
What is hope exactly?
Hope to me is a belief that everything will work out for the best. It might not be an easy task or situation we will encounter, but we will learn what we needed or be put on the path we were meant to walk. Most importantly, hope is knowing that we’re always supported and being guided through the right doors.
Lately, I’ve been riding the waves of life with a lot of hope.
Hope that our country becomes more peaceful, hope about my finances, hope that my community of friends grows, and hope that I can help the people who could use it the most. Especially those who want to bring happiness back into their life or want to build better connection with friends.
But I’ll tell you, some days it is difficult to find that hope. A passing comment about the political climate, paying high grocery costs, or feeling overwhelmed with all the things that come with owning a business…all of those things can derail me.
The things that harm me the most are when I pay attention to the news, watch violent shows, listen to a lot of swear words, and even reading a horror story. Same goes for spending time with people who don’t lift me up.
Too much of this stuff, and my hope dwindles, setting me into a terrible depression.
Any of this sounding familiar for your own life?
There’s a saying, “garbage in, garbage out”.
The media you consume, people you choose to hang out with, and the environments you frequent all have an impact on your outlook on life.
Sometimes you don’t even realize the negativity it brings in. I personally didn’t recognize the impact until I got more familiar with my own body, emotions and energetic state of being.
This is why it’s important to pay attention to your moods and what (or who) you are subjecting yourself to during your days.
Once you get clear on that, you can do your best and reduce your experiences with the things that bring you down, but you can’t eliminate everything.
And maybe, just maybe, you love something too much to give it up. Like me – I’m a sucker for the “Small Town Murder” comedy podcast! Those guys are funny, but the stories can be awful and there’s so much swearing. So I listen in smaller doses than I used to. And if I start feeling sad while listening, I will hit stop and not return to that particular episode.
I’m not telling you to live in a bubble, because experiencing life is why we’re here on this Earth. Sometimes you might get derailed – either by your own choices, or being in a situation that causes you to lose a little hope.
These blips in hope are why I make sure to spend time each week to ground myself, clear my energy, work with my spirit team, and get clear on my own inner authority. And of course, find the things that bring joy.
When I’m confident in my decisions, have clarity on my path ahead, and a foundation of happiness, it’s easier to walk away from situations or people that bring me down. Plus, I bounce back quicker if I get derailed.
You can do this, too.
- Shift your perspective, consume the media that brings you happy feelings, and keep those around you who make you feel your best.
- When you are going out into the world, be proactive to find the things that make you happy on a daily basis, create your life purpose, and keep boundaries with those that bring you down.
- If you know how, clear your energy often using meditation, or work with someone like me who can help you/teach you.
If you had a choice, would you choose Hope or Fear?
Lucky for you, there’s always a choice!
