Who Would you Be?

Have you seen that show, “The Tourist”? He wakes up in a hospital and has amnesia, spending most of the episodes figuring out who he is (or was).

I’ve been thinking a lot about that show. My thought is, why try to dig up the past when you have the luxury of starting everything over?

The way I see it, our past can often be detrimental to our future.

Think about it – how often do you tell yourself:

  • “I’ve never done that, so I can’t start now.”
  • “I did this awful thing in my past, so I don’t deserve this today.”
  • “I don’t like that, so I won’t try it again.”
  • “I’m bad at this activity.”

Today I realized that my past is what consumes my negative self-talk. When the judgement of me comes up, it’s fueled by regrets, guilt, or longing for something different.

But what if we flipped the script on our life?

If you woke up tomorrow, with no memory of your past, who would you choose to be?

I know what I would choose. I would be athletic, brave, happy, artistic, musical, a healer, big-hearted, successful, and a risk-taker.

Let’s take this even further. Why CAN’T we choose to be those things starting today anyway?

When self-talk gets in the way, let’s pretend we have amnesia and don’t know anything different.

So, starting today, I AM athletic, brave, happy, artistic, musical, a healer, big-hearted, successful, and a risk-taker.

Starting today, who are you choosing to be?

  • Get REALLY excited about your life, sometimes without even leaving the house!
  • Go from “nothing to talk about” to “she has the BEST stories in the office!”
  • Most people will write out a Bucket List but never do anything about it. I’ll show you how to take action so fast, your neighbors will be wondering where you’ve been!
