Find your purpose

Lately, have you been feeling like:

  • Life has no meaning
  • You’ve lost part of who you are
  • You are exhausted and depleted
  • You want to be involved but don’t know how
  • Your career is fine…but it doesn’t fulfill you
  • Every day feels the same
  • You are perfectly capable, healthy, everything is fine, but you just existyou’re not really living

Worst of all, you are SO ready for a change, but you don’t know where to start?

What’s the point of life if it feels the same every day?

For years, I too felt like I was wandering aimlessly, waiting for things to fall in my lap.

Sometimes, I would casually think I might want to get my master’s degree in marketing because it was the “thing to do”. Next, I would move on to thinking maybe I don’t want to do marketing and do something else. Or sometimes I wanted to start a business. And I also would go on a long stretch of wanting to move out of state and completely reinvent my life.

It all just felt like, whatever happens, happens. I didn’t have a handle on any of it. And I often felt like I was looking to others to tell me what to do, rather than figuring out what I actually wanted.

It wasn’t until about 10 years ago that I got really intentional with my life. It was right around a time where I started feeling like a big part of me was screaming to be let out. It had been trapped for too long.

In order to connect with that piece of me, I started doing all this research on careers, where I might want to volunteer, what kinds of hobbies I might like, and who I really wanted to be in the world.

What I really discovered was that a lot of things made me happy, but only a few things gave me PURPOSE for life. A real reason for living.

When I did have goals, life felt exciting! I was driven and fulfilled when I was:

  • planning my move to Colorado
  • serving a term as president of a volunteer organization
  • learning to make metal jewelry
  • doing Reiki healing for people
  • tapping into my psychic abilities
  • building my business

On the flip side, though, during the times that I didn’t have goals to work towards, I felt aimless and lost.

Let’s talk about that. You might have a good understanding of what that feels like.

You know what I mean. Those times that you feel so depleted, and you’ve given so much of yourself away to others. When you have no idea which way to go next because you’ve been so worried about being everything to everyone else.

How the heck do you actually figure out who you are, what you want, and what direction to take?

The motivation alone can be hard to find. And even more difficult if you don’t know where to start…or what even brings you joy.

What I discovered was that in these moments of helplessness, it’s most important to reconnect with yourself. Doing things like:

  • Find out what your heart desires (she always has desires, even if they feel hidden)
  • Remember what brought you happiness as a kid
  • Remind yourself of the activities that you enjoyed in the past, and what you might wish you “could” do now
  • And most importantly, allow yourself to have big dreams for your future (regardless of if you “think” you can achieve it)

By learning who you are, deep down, you get a better understanding of a path forward.

You might be at a place where this feels impossible. It’s not!

You probably need some prompting with the right questions, guided activities, and a safe space to let go of your reservations to tap into your real dreams.

Believe me, when I was at my worst, crying every day, and feeling like “what’s the point of life”, these activities are a big part of how I made it through the struggle.

I had a renewed hope for the future and started to feel like myself again (or a better version of it). When I had new goals and a path forward to building the life I wanted, filled with purpose and helping others, I felt more energized and excited to wake up in the morning.

Walking through these steps, several times over, is how I’ve been able to manifest the jobs, this business, the creativity, the happiness, and the love for myself. When I reach the end of my purpose with one thing (see the Give Up on Your Dream blog), I reach for these tools again to discover my next purpose.

If you’ve gotten to this point and wondered how you can do this for yourself, I’ve got good news.

What would it be like if you had purpose and a passion for life once again?

To truly feel like your life has meaning beyond your career, family, and keeping a nice house?

Imagine what your life would be like to wake up excited every morning to be alive. Can you even imagine a day where you don’t want to sleep in, simply because you just can’t wait to get started with your day?

What would it feel like to be empowered? To find that piece of yourself that’s been missing? Imagine that you feel fulfilled with whatever you’re doing. You also feel healthier and more energetic because you are living in your purpose. You take better care of yourself because you care about your life and want to be at your best.

In this life, you laugh and smile more. You feel happy and alive! Life just seems to flow in a positive direction. As a result, you naturally attract more friendships because you are happier and it is infectious. Even your kids make plans to spend more time with you!

Best of all, you have a deep knowing that you are heading in the right direction and it feels GOOD. You trust yourself and the decisions you make because you recognize that you are doing everything with love for yourself. You are thriving and you love it.

This doesn’t have to be a daydream!

This CAN be your life. If you’re ready to reinvent yourself and finally figure out what fills your cup, the Find Your Purpose program was made for you.
