The Kelsey Show podcast

I was recently a guest on the Kelsey Show podcast, talking about why connection is so important and how to use your inner guidance system to create a better life yourself.

Here’s an excerpt of that conversation.

Kelsey:

“I do think that the more that people practice [trusting their inner authority], that this ties so much into creating joy, right? Because when you’re going against yourself all the time, and you’re not listening to this, you are just perpetually upset with yourself.

The more that you really tap into your body and your inner authority, the more that you actually can’t live out of alignment, because it feels too bad, right?”

Emma:

“Yeah. I love that you brought up [this idea of being in alignment], because when I moved out to Colorado, I didn’t have a job. I didn’t know anybody. But I was convicted. I knew I was moving out here, and nobody could sway me.

And I did it. And people were trying all the time to tell me, ‘You shouldn’t do this. What the hell are you doing?’

And I was like, ‘no, I know this is what I’m supposed to do. I’m on my path.’ But it worked out. I’ve been here now, you know, 6+ years. And it’s great.

When we know and we’re trusting our inner authority, when we’re convicted on something, nobody can sway us off our path. And we feel so much more confident in who we are as a person

Like you’re saying, the more we can tap into this, the more joyous we feel because we know we’re doing the thing that’s good for us.”

Kelsey:

“I love that. I think that there’s so much goodness in this conversation. And I think that really, we have very similar beliefs because I feel like I blame society for everything too. Everyone knows that I’m so against blame, but no, there is a culprit here.”

Emma:

“It’s just that we all feel like we want to conform. We don’t want people to think that we’re weird or off. We always want to be going back to the childhood popular crowd thing.

And that’s not what life is about. Life is not fun when we’re trying to be somebody we’re not.”
